Research Programme on Strategic Foresight
The main task of the John Lukacs Institute for Strategy and Politics’s Research Programme on Strategic Foresight is to contribute to the development of Hungarian foreign, security and defence policy strategies and geopolitical thinking by setting up scenarios for expected future challenges based on the analysis of the main trends of the present. The tool for this is the analysis of the international “strategic foresight” literature, examining the processes that have the greatest impact on the security and national interests of our country. The program is currently following the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war in particular, but also analyses the situation of certain regions of the Caucasus and the global south that are important for the current and future Hungarian security. Our goal is to continue the “World” (Világ) series launched in 2021, focusing specifically on future trends, by analysing the processes of our region and the impact of larger global trends, including technological changes.
