On March 20, 2025, the delegation of the Center for Foreign Policy Studies of Uzbekistan, led by its director, Sanjar Valiyev, visited the John Lukacs Institute for Strategy and Politics.
During a closed-door background discussion, we engaged in a dialogue on Uzbekistan's foreign policy, the security policy of Central Asia, and the relationships between the countries of the region and the European Union.
Mr. Valiyev, director of the research institute, which operates under the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, provided an overview of the significance of the EU–Central Asia Summit to be held in Uzbekistan, and outlined the fundamental principles of his country's foreign policy, which is based on maintaining relations with all relevant global and regional actors.
During the meeting, the members of both institutes discussed future research collaboration opportunities, with the goal of continuing joint professional work.
