The Role of the Visegrád Cooperation in Shaping the Future of Europe (2021)
Our international conference "The role of the Visegrad Cooperation in shaping the future of Europe" took place on the 11th of May 2021.
The scope of the topic, the significance of the speakers and the advantages of the online format were demonstrated by the fact that, in addition to domestic participants, listeners tuned in via their screens from Poland, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and Bosnia and Herzegovina as well. The presentations were followed by a lively exchange of views between the invited speakers and the participants.
The conference was opened by Ambassador Edit Szilágyiné Bátorfi, Executive Director of the International Visegrad Fund, following introductory remarks on the topic by Gergely Prőhle, Director of the Otto von Habsburg Foundation and the Institute for Strategic Studies of the Ludovika University of Public Service. Presentations were held by Hubert Védrine, the former French Foreign Minister, Jerzy Buzek MEP, the former Prime Minister of Poland, and former President of the EP, as well as János Martonyi, the former Foreign Minister of Hungary.
