College of Visegrad+ weekend university

The College of Visegrad+ (CoV+) is an innovative, collegiate youth leadership training programme focused on educating the next generation of leaders within the Visegrad Four (V4), a regional alliance of Central European countries, namely the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Republic of Poland and the Slovak Republic.

The “College of Visegrad+ Weekend University” project has been launched in 2024 for students and young professionals from the Visegrad countries.

The first event was held from 3 to 9 April 3 to April 9, 2024, at the Ludovika campus in Budapest, gathering university students, emerging professionals and guest lecturers from across the Visegrad countries. It was co-organised by the John Lukacs Institute for Strategy and Politics, the Metropolitan University of Prague, the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University of Košice, with the support of the International Visegrad Fund and the Otto von Habsburg Foundation.

The second session of the College of Visegrad+ Weekend University took place in the historic city of Visegrad, from 10 to October 13, 2024.

The aim of both weekend universities is to provide participants with a deeper knowledge of various facets of Visegrad Cooperation, to get to know each other’s positions and to expand their network among young people from the V4 nations who share similar values and interests. The lectures and discussions were enriched by cultural programs, including visits to landmarks such as the Parliament and the Visegrad Citadel.
